The total call duration of long distance calls in 2009 amounted to 438.76 billion minutes, up 7.5 percent year on year. The call duration of domestic long distance calls reached 434.6 billion minutes, up 7.8 percent year on year. That of international long distance calls topped 2.14 billion minutes, down 14.2 percent. Long distance calls to Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan amounted to 2.02 billion minutes, down 9 percent.
